Unfortunately I gave up trying to address the issue with them. It was like banging my head against a brick wall... It's a shame, because otherwise the service is fantastic.

I've suddenly started really getting slapped these the last couple of days.

Does anyone have any email addresses for LoveFilm's affiliate management? Or their CEO? Or like anyone there?

It looks like it would actually be pretty easy to filter these messages based on the sending address or the subject, but I was initially somewhat reluctant to do this because I had been under the impression LoveFilm were a reputable company. If that were they case I don't want to kick them into /dev/null lest I actually want to use them in the future.

It is disappointing to find they were told about this problem months ago, and that they've done naff all about it. This says "company I never want to do business with" to me.

I have just mailed them after recieving 30 mails today and hundreds during the week. After a telephone conversation that was most unhelpful I have not told them I will contact the ICO if it does not stop. They must be using a 3rd party who just spams for a laugh!

Taking control is quite liberating. You free yourself from consumerism, and begin to see the world of finance in a whole new light. Plus, you get to save an enormous amount of money in the process. Who wouldn't want to do that?

this is a really interesting concept. I envy how organised you seem to be with your finances.

The closest I've come to hedging is when I was single and working I'd lift a tenner each day going to work and whatever was left at the end of the day went in a bucket in my room. It's actually surprising how much you 'get' in a very short time.

My OH's bank do a thing on her debit card too, each spend is rounded up to the nearest pound and the difference is sent to her savings account. So if she spends say £154.27 in tesco, they get 154.27 and her savings account gets 73p. Since most purchases these days are done on the card it very quickly adds up to a not unsubstantial amount.

Now if only we didn't keep dipping it!

I repeatedly get spam from Lovefilm, i have unsubscribed repeatedly yet they still spam me!! While my latest spam message includes an unsubscribe option, the link just doesnt work and end up at a page that cannot be found.

It would appear that lovefilm endorse reckless marketing activities... they should hang their heads in shame.

By way of personal update, I've gone off the HTC Touch Pro 2. The Android option is looking more likely, but that deserves a post of its own. Well pointed out Billy. :)

I just dumped vodafone after like 15 years or something. They suck. I'm now on O2 which leaves me the iPhone option OR the new HTC, having previously looked at the HTC Magic running android I'm almost convinced this is the way to go. Can you imagine Apple's licensing people EVER allowing a spotify mobile app for example?? (also I'm on linux usually so apple products = native compatibility fail usually, iTunes anyone?)

GF is still on the waiting list for a 16Gb iPhone 3GS but I think I'll probably go for the HTC Magic(the touch pro runs windows mobile iirc but Android is the shizzle afaic) myself if pushed.

I actually did a comparison of the iphone on O2 pay as you go and it was cheaper for me than the HTC on vodafone contract. I never use my phone to actually call people so free minutes are irrlelevant, as are texts really. I do need unlimited data though as I rack up a lot that way.

Until I decide on the iPhone/HTC I'm doing O2. I'm on £10 a month - £7.50 for an unlimited data pack. which leaves me with £2.50 to spend on calls(that's not gonna happen!) meaning every 3 months I'll be able to cover my data for the 4th.

I'm also gonna snag my mates old N95 handset so should be sufficiently mobile for my needs for next to nothing! w00t! I could probably get by with an ipod touch
